This is a great hike to take your time and spend a good part of your day enjoying the views, streams and falls. But, this was not how my day was going to go. I had evening dinner plans. So off I went with my guide Dawn who brought this hike to my attention. She was up for the just under 4 1/2 hr round trip which a bit of a rush with so much to see. A 15 to 20 min break at the falls and back down we came. Then I was off to Gatlinburg for dinner and I was ready for dinner!
What a great hike! I can't wait to get back and take a little more time and maybe bring a fly rod. A quick word of caution. At the falls it is very important to be careful, there have been 4 deaths in recent times of hikers not being careful at the falls. As always hike safe, stay away from large drop offs and slippery areas with large drop offs.
